How did I Start My Freelance Content Writing Journey?

It was unexpected and sudden!

Yes, it was. I embarked on my online entrepreneurial endeavor with blogging. I launched my blog in November 2021, thinking I would rank my blog posts on Google and monetize them through Google AdSense.

Furthermore, I have this exciting idea in the back of my mind that I will do affiliate marketing and earn some commissions. This led me to select the WordPress niche. Blogging and Affiliate Marketing Journey.

At the outset, embarking on this path of blogging and affiliate marketing appeared quite challenging for me. The reason behind it was I had to manage hundreds of things at a time. Such as

  • Managing domain and hosting,
  • Designing the whole website,
  • Managing Google Search Console,
  • Submitting robots.txt files,
  • Applying for Affiliate Approval,
  • Creating all the Relevant Pages like About Us, Contact Us,
  • Keyword Research,
  • Analyzing The Competitors, etc

But, as soon as I delved into the writing process, I found myself wholeheartedly enjoying every moment of it, with a genuine sense of delight. πŸ˜„

Eureka! I discovered my deep-seated passion for writing. Though it took an entire week to craft just one article, the pure joy of writing was my constant companion.

Steve Jobs: Connecting The Dots.

β€œYou can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”

   β€“ Steve Jobs.

Throughout my college years, my diary became my soul mate. It wasn’t that I lacked friends entirely; there were a few, but an overwhelming sense of loneliness often lingered. Also, during that period, my family and I faced some challenging times. Hence, I decided to pen down my thoughts and feelings into the pages of my diary.

And, these habitual writing exercises embraced during my college days are still providing strength in my current writing endeavor. This is how I connected the first dot: writing a diary every day to regularly crafting and ranking blogs on Google.

  • William Wordsworth,
  • William Shakespeare,
  • John Keats,
  • PB Shelley,
  • Mathew Arnold,
  • Oliver Goldsmith
  • Ben Johnson,
  • Robert Frost,
  • Oscar Wilde etc.

These poets have profoundly mesmerized my mind.
Here are some of my favorite literary works of English literature:

  • Ode to Autumn. – by John Keats.
  • Ode to the West Wind. – by PB Shelley.
  • Ode to Evening. – by William Collins.
  • Dover Beach. – by Matthew Arnold.

How did I Learn Blog Writing?

The process of learning blog writing and honing my skills in SEO was both challenging and enjoyable. As I mentioned I have a deep passion for writing, which has made the process of creating content feel effortless for me.
However, when it comes to blog writing, it requires a higher level of skill and technique. This is because the ultimate goal is to secure a top-ranking position on the first page of Google’s search engine results pages (SERPs).

Differences between Normal Writing and Blog Writing?

Writing a diary and crafting a blog are entirely distinct pursuits. Diary writing involves recording your personal thoughts and experiences. Whereas, blog writing focuses on educating the readers with valuable information through storytelling and engaging writing techniques keeping the target audience and SEO guidelines in mind.

Therefore, if your content doesn’t boast in-depth information, proper visuals, and an engaging writing tone, readers will not show any interest in your content and your content will end up at the lowermost part of Google SERP. It simply means that if your content fails to add value to your audience, both your clients and Google will disapprove of it.
